My favourite part of Christmas is this part between Christmas Day and the New Year. It is a time when I'm able to catch up with friends who I haven't seen over the year and enjoy having them coming to stay at our home. It is also time whenever I get a chance to reflect upon life, where am I going? Who am I becoming?
But it is also a time of year whenever I can begin to acclimatise myself again for reentry into the normal, as I leave begin the excitement of Christmas and it's celebrations. Here is a Celtic prayer for those, who like me are preparing themselves for reentry:
"Most powerful powerful Holy Spirit,
come down upon us
and subdue us.
From heaven,
where the ordinary is made glorious,
and glory seems but ordinary,
bathe us with the brilliance
of your Your light like dew."
